Your Stories

If you live in the New Forest and you’d like to make your own recordings, then get in touch with the New Forest Trust. We can lend you a recorder, and we can show you how to use it to get great results. In return we’d want you to give a copy of your recordings to the New Forest Centre. And we might also use your recordings on this website.

Lucie Rowe is a fifth-generation commoner in the New Forest, and volunteered to join the oral history project. The picture shows Lucie with her mum and ex-agister Raymond Bennett.

Hear Lucie explain why she thinks it’s so important to record the memories of elderly commoners.
